This episode is incredibly special for me. Monica Dale has been an influential person in my life since I was little and I've always admired her. She is my not only my aunt, but also my first Dalcroze instructor. I learned new information about her background in music and dance and I hope you find her work as inspiring and educational as I do. Monica Dale grew up on the campus of Connecticut College, when it was the epicenter for modern dance as host of the American Dance Festival. As a child, she had experimental creative dance classes and was surrounded with modern art and music. She studied dance at Connecticut College and at the suggestion of faculty, left college for New York City where she trained at the Joffrey, Martha Graham, and Cunningham Schools.
